It is my honour to serve as the Chairperson of the MMNC Division for Session 2024/2025.  I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the past chairperson and committee members for their dedication and contribution in hosting various learned activities for our members and enhancing our professional status and image. 

HKIE will mark its 50th anniversary milestone in 2025, with the theme of “Grow the Nexus, Link the Links / 一脈相承 縱深相連" to reaffirm its role as an important connector in the global engineering community.  In MMNC Division, we have a wide range of engineering professionals, including mechanical, marine, naval architecture and chemical.  With our interdisciplinary nature, we are in a good position in knowledge exchange with other engineering professionals. Technical visits are being planned to Mainland and overseas to strengthen our ties with the corresponding engineering communities. 

We will keep on providing learning activities, including technical visits as well as seminars, to our members to equip them to meet evolving needs of our society.  Besides, to have an early engagement with potential engineering students, cross-disciplinary events with other divisions of HKIE and other professional bodies will be arranged for school students. These include the following signature programs: the Young Inventor Competition (YIC), the Blue Tech STEM program as well as the STEM x Marine Vehicles Design/Construction Competition. 

We will only be able to do the above with your support and participation.  I look forward to working closely with you at our upcoming events. Let’s have another fruitful and enjoyable year!
