Young or Ready Series: A Route to become a Professional Marine Engineer and Naval Architect Discipline (Jointly Organized by YMC and MMNC)

Programme Highlights
Young or Ready Series is set to help graduate members to decide and equip themselves to the route of a professional engineer in various disciplines. This seminar will be delivered in the form of experience sharing and question-and-answer session. While the content of the seminar is focused on Marine & Naval Architecture (MNA) Discipline, the sharing would also be useful to other engineering disciplines. 

This seminar will introduce to young members: 
- Routes to obtain Corporate Membership in HKIE 
- Examination requirements about Marine Engineering Officers 
- Suggestions on the training focus 
- Key to success in preparing for the Professional Assessment 
- Continuous professional development

Speaker 
Ir Ivan HM TUNG - Ir Tung graduated in 1979 from the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) of Taiwan with the BSc degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He also graduated in 1982 from the University College London (UCL) and was awarded the MSc degree in Naval Architecture.

After the graduations, he worked in Hong Kong for two shipyards, one shipping company and one ferry company separately for the tasks including design and construction of both domestic and ocean going vessels and management of professional and technical staff. 

Ir Tung served in the HKMD as a ship surveyor in 1989 and moved up to higher positions from year to year. He eventually promoted as the Deputy Director of Marine in 2012 to assist the Director to monitor the safety of the port and Hong Kong registered ships in addition to manage about 1400 staff.

Registration & Enquiries 
This seminar is free of charge and prior registration is required. The number of participants is limited to 120. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to Registered Young Members and Members of MMNC Division. Only on-line registration via MMNC division website http://mc.hkie.org.hk/ shall be accepted for registration. Successful applicants will be notified individually.
