A Registered Professional Engineers
(Mechanical or Marine & Naval Architecture), can act important roles in
various Hong Kong Government Regulations.
In this seminar, Dr. Kevin Wan, Engineer
from Energy Efficiency Office of Electrical and Mechanical Services Department
will introduce us the role of Registered Professional Engineers (MCL) & Registered
Energy Assessor (REA) in Buildings Energy Efficiency (Cap 610B). Energy
Efficiency Office (EEO) of EMSD was established in 1994, to provide the
technical expertise and the drive for energy efficiency and conservation
programmes. The office works to issue
codes of practice, such as Building Energy Codes, establish guidelines, and is
actively involved in working groups and related committees in the efficient use
and conservation of electricity.
Additional initiatives range from existing building retro-commissioning,
benchmarking, exploration of advanced energy efficiency technologies, energy
efficiency labelling scheme, to promoting wider use of new and renewable
energy. Dr. Kevin Wan will also give us
a brief account on the above.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to members of MMNC Division.
