Technical Visit to CLP System Control Centre

Programme Highlights
CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) is the largest electricity supplier in Hong Kong and the System Control Centre (SCC) in Strafford House, Tai Po is the nerve centre of its operations. It is one of the world’s most advanced power system control centres and is professionally managed by the System Operation Department of the Power Systems Business Group (PSBG). CLP provides customers with continuous, high quality electricity supply by ensuring the safe, secure and efficient operation of the power systems. Working closely with other operational units within CLP Power and the regional counterparts, CLP play a key role in delivering on electricity supply the customers that is more thank 99.99 per cent reliable.

As electricity cannot be stored efficiently, SCC staff must accurately forecast demand and schedule adequate, economic power generation, optimizing the utilization of generation units while complying with environmental requirements. To achieve, CLP engineers direct, monitor and control the real-time generation, transmission and distribution of electricity on a minute-by-minute basis. This dedication ensures the customers are assured of a reliable electricity sypply round-the-clock, at the flick of a switch. In this event, visitors will have chance to visit the facilities of CLP System Control Centre.

Registration & Enquiries 
This visit is free of charge and prior registration is required. The number of participants is limited to 19. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to members of MMNC Division. Only on-line registration via MMNC divisional website http://mc.hkie.org.hk/ shall be accepted for registration. Successful applicants will be notified individually.
