Programme Highlights
In view of the scare land resources, the housing need and prevalent traffic noise problems, traditional noise mitigation measures no longer be able to cope with the latest development in Hong Kong. Indeed, various kinds of innovative noise mitigation designs (INMD) such as acoustic windows and balconies have been employed in public and private residential building in the past few years which have significantly reduced the noise transmitted from outdoor to indoor while maintaining the required ventilation inside the premises. Such designs are now increasingly popular in the planning of housing developments in Hong Kong, which are also the fore-runner in the world. All professionals in building, engineering, architecture, planning, environmental protection, designs, surveying and acoustics should not miss the opportunity, as the design considerations, development, effectiveness, and application of various INMD will be presented in the seminar. Moreover, four dimensional (4D) virtual reality (VR) demonstration of the INMD will be conducted in the second part of the seminar. With the provision of the VR facilities, all participants can have hands-on experience of the visual and audio effects of the INMD.
