Programme Highlights

North East New Territories (NENT) Landfill is one of strategic landfill sites in Hong Kong since 1995. It has taken the benefit of advancement in landfill technology to provide a major capacity for waste disposal in Hong Kong. NENT Landfill occupied total area of 61 ha with daily waste intake ~3,100 tonnes and its capacity is around 35 Mm³ for disposal of municipal and construction waste.

Apart from the designed capacity for waste disposal, a number of environmental control measures and protective works are provided to maintain operation of this landfill site.

Participating in this visit, members can understand more on the design, operation and maintenance of NENT Landfill.

This seminar is free of charge* and prior registration is required. The number of participants is limited to 40. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to members of MMNC Division. Only on-line registration via MMNC divisional website http://mc.hkie.org.hk/ on or before 3 January 2020 shall be accepted for registration. Successful applicants will be notified individually.
