Programme Highlights
In this webinar, we are grateful to invite students from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University E-Formula Racing Team , to be our speakers for the technical sharing. Through the webinar, HKIE MMNC division would like to introduce our members with current techniques of E-Formula vehicle including the design from powertrain, suspension, aerodynamics, chassis, electrical and electronics aspects, PolyU experiences from international competitions, and lesson learnt on combining practical engineering experience with soft skills including business planning and project management.

About PolyU E-Formula Racing Team
● Established in 2015
● First ever electric formula student team in Hong Kong participate in Formula Student Electric China
● Participated in Formula Student Electric China (FSEC) since 2017, participated in Formula Student UK (FSUK) concept class since 2020
● Comprises over 40 undergraduate members from various disciplines (Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic and Information Engineering, Computer Science, Product design, English Studies, etc.)
● Members applies their knowledge and skills in design, fabricate and test of electric formula race car for the automotive engineering competition

About Formula Student Competition (FSAE/FS)
● Largest collegiate design and manufacture competitions about automotive engineering
● Over 10 countries (UK, USA, Italy, Germany, Japan, Australia, China, etc) hold FSAE/FS competitions every year
● Competition consists of Static events (Design Judge, Cost & Manufacturing Analysis, Business presentation), Dynamic events (Acceleration, Skidpad, Autocross, Endurance)

Previous competition results
● 2017 FSEC: 28 out of 43 teams, 2nd over 13 in Novice team
● 2018 FSEC: 33 out of 53 teams, 14th place in Business Presentation
● 2019 FSEC: 31 out of 54 teams, 7th place in Business Presentation
● 2020 FSUK: 44 out of 66 teams, 38th place in Engineering Design

This seminar is free of charge and prior registration is required.  The number of participants is limited to 150. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to members of MMNC Division.
