Highlights
MTR is
regarded as one of the world's leading railway operators aiming to provide safe,
reliable, efficient and satisfactory customer service. Passengers’ safety is
one of the key issues to address for MTR Railway project.This technical
visit will be on one of the important railway safety features - The Tunnel Environmental
Control System (TECS) installations. The TECS installation will include
vertical and horizontal TVF installations, trackway ventilation installations and
electrical and control installation. An introduction of the TECS system adopted
for Shatin Central link will be provided.
TECS is
required for rail tunnels to maintain the environment condition of tunnel for
train operation and to keep a smoke-free path for passengers’ evacuation when a
fire occurs in tunnel. This technical visit will focus on TECS installation at Kai
Tak MTR Station and the necessary considerations of good TECS installation.
