Technical Seminar on Hong Kong Commercial Diving Industry

Programme Highlights
In Hong Kong, many civil and marine construction or maintenance projects involve diving works. However, the government has no specific legislation or control over commercial diving. Through this seminar, Ir K.K. LI will review and give opinions for the relevant regulatory requirements for commercial diving and its qualifications, with reference to that of recreational nature.

Biographies of Speaker
Ir LI Kin Kwong (
李健光工程師) MBA, CMgr, CIBA, FIMarEST, FHKIE, FHKIMT, NACDS Course Director
Ir LI Kin Kwong became Commercial Diving Instructor in 1992, received MBA in 1993, FIMarEST in 1994 and FHKIE in 1996. He earned his professional qualifications in the UK, USA, Canada, China and Hong Kong. As an experienced Marine Engineer and Diving Instructor for 30 years, Ir Li has trained and certified more than 4,000 students, including 300 Professional Instructors.

Ir Li started his engineering career in Hong Kong United Dockyard as a mechanical apprentice in 1969 and as Ship Repair Superintendent in 1982, then he served as an Electrical and Mechanical Manager of BBC Brown Boveri (now called ABB) and Manager of Hong Kong Divers Limited from 1983 to 1989. Now Ir Li is the Managing Director of Kinetic Key Company Limited (KKCL) and Scuba World (Shenzhen) Company Limited. KKCL is currently an Exclusive Diving Contractor of the Hong Kong Government Dockyard, responsible for providing emergency underwater services to over 200 government vessels.

With his sound experiences in marine engineering and commercial diving, Ir Li has been invited as an expert witness at the High Court in Hong Kong to provide expert opinions and advice on marine, recreational and commercial diving accidents since 1998.

This seminar is free of charge and prior registration is required. The number of participants is limited to 70. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to Members of HKIE-MMNC, HKJB and HKIMT.
