Session 1:
“Warming Trend of Artic Climate and its Implications on International Shipping”
by Ir Dr. Nicky Yun
Fat LAM”
This presentation aims to introduce the recent increasing trend of
temperature in Artic and its impact on the northwest passage. The speaker
will share his recent trip to Artic;
Discuss the sea-ice
retreat and how it affects the shipping business; what are
the latest scientific findings about sea-ice/glacier retreat.
Session 2:
“Opportunities and Challenges for the Shipping Industry in the Green Electricity Conversion Industry”
by Mr. Huafeng ZHAN
The presentation covers overview of Green Power Conversion
Industry (Green power conversion industry solves the “bottleneck” problem of large-scale new energy transmission, provides support for building a new power
system and solves the demand of carbon neutral fuels for downstream end users
such as shipping and aviation enterprises); power selection for green ships
(clean energy for large ships, methanol, ammonia and hydrogen); opportunities
and challenges faced by the shipping industry (research and development of
power equipment and sources of clean energy)
Session 3:
“Leverage the Power of Data, Machine Learning
and AI to Improve Efficiency” by Mr. Ivan Wai Pong TAM
Maritime solutions and services leverage the power of machine
learning and artificial intelligence to revolutionise efficiency, safety, and risk management in the maritime industry. We
have developed advanced models and
algorithms that provide actionable insights and enable informed
decision-making. Maritime solution providers, authorisations and solution provider
collected versatile and large amount
of data every day,
what can be more effectively used? Sharing of how Industry
Making use ML/AI in voyage planning, incident risk classification prediction,
detention prediction and vessel trading pattern recognition.
