Technical Visit to Guangzhou, China

Programme Highlights
Technical Visit to:
1. The world’s first 2,000 tonnes class all-electric ship built at Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Ltd. The size of the vessel is 70.5 m long, 13.9 m wide and 4.5 m deep. The ship is powered by a 26 tonnes lithium battery of 2,400 kilowatt hours. She can travel up to 80 Km with 2,000 tonnes cargo after a two-hour charge and the top speed of the vessel is 12.8 Km per hour or about 7 knots. As the ship does not use fossil fuel, it has zero emission, including carbon, sulphur and PM2.5; and
2. In order to make our technical visit a full day’s programme, we have requested the Guangdong Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (GDSNAME), to arrange a technical visit to the largest ship model towing tank in the South China at South China University of Technology (SCUT) in the afternoon if possible. Noting that the 10 February 2018 is a holiday for the University and we are still waiting for the reply from GNSNAME the possibility of visiting the ship model towing tank at SCUT. (Programme may be subject to minor adjustment).

Registration Fee
NIL (However, participants are required to purchase their own ticket to Nansha in advance and their own train ticket from Guangzhou East Station to Hong Kong). Out-going trip departing at 08:00 Hrs. at China Ferry Terminal and participants should take care of their own cost for transportation and lunch.

Prior registration is required and the deadline of application is 1 February 2018. The number of participants is limed to 20 and applications will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis.
