Programme Highlights“Small city, big sea: Hong Kong marine life diversity prompts renewed scientific interest and calls for protection. Hong Kong waters account for just 0.03 per vent of Chinese seas but a quarter of the country’s marine life, and experts say this previous habitat needs protecting.”
In this seminar, the speaker will introduce the beauty of underwater marine life and habitats in Hong Kong through the lens; and raising public awareness of importance in conservation of our marine environment in Hong Kong. The speaker will show the amazing coastal ecology in Hong Kong, and let our members know that the aquatic riches of our city can be way beyond our imagination.
SpeakerMr. John Ng is a full-time scuba diver in Hong Kong, the founder of underwater photography on Scuba Monster. He is an enthusiastic photographer of benthic living organism and has over 10 years experience on underwater photography. The underwater photos of John have been awarded and displayed by Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD); awarded by the Underwater Photographic Competition. In 2014, John has been appointed by AFCD to be the committee member and judge of Hong Kong Underwater Photo and Video Competition.

Registration & EnquiriesThis seminar is free of charge and prior registration is required. The number of participants is limited to 70. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis (MMNC Division members will be given a higher priority). Only on-line registration via MMNC divisional website http://mc.hkie.org.hk/ shall be accepted. Successful applicants will be notified individually.
