Programme Highlights
CLP Black Point Power Station (BPPS) is one of the
world’s largest gas-fired combined-cycle power stations. The power station
utilises natural gas as its primary fuel and ultra low-sulphur diesel as backup
fuel source. The first unit in the power station began operation in 1996, and
later on with more units commissioned in phases from 1996 to 2006. It totally consists
of 8 power generating units, each with gross capacity at 312.5MW. An additional
unit is currently under construction.
The visit will introduce the power generation process
through its Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) technology. We will pay visit to
the gallery, follow up with a brief bus tour inside the power station,
accompanied by experienced staff from CLP.
Transportation will be provided from Tuen Mun MTR Station.
