Ir Dr Billy
Tam
Ir Dr Billy Tam
is a professional railway engineer in MTR and an active participant in
innovation projects. He has over 10
years of experience in the railway industry, who also received recognitions in
various competitions on innovations both locally and internationally. He received the B.Eng. and PhD degrees in
Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and was
specialized in advanced wireless technologies and communication theory. He is also a Chartered Engineer of UK, a
senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE),
and a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), the Institution
of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institution of Railway Signal
Engineers (IRSE). Furthermore, he is
experienced in the applications of artificial intelligence, computer vision,
video analytics, and Internet of Things in railway. He has been a training tutor of Scheme “A”
Graduate Training of HKIE since 2017, and is now an engineering supervisor of the
scheme.
Ms. Shera Lai
Ms. Lai is the
Senior Technology Development Manager of MTR Corporation and has been in the
Railway industry for over 10 years.
She is
responsible for managing new technology implementation projects, providing
technical advice to users on the choice of technologies, and promoting the
culture for new technology adoption.
Ms. Lai has a
broad experience in systems engineering for engineering design, new technology
application, innovation culture and risk management.
Ms. Lai obtained
her BEng Degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and BBA Degree (Hons) in
General Business Management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology,
Hong Kong
