Highlights:
To
support Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050 and CLP’s Climate Vision 2050, CLP
Power is developing Grid-Scale Battery Energy Storage System (HKBESS) at Castle
Peak Power Station, targeted for commissioning in 2028. This initiative aims to
reduce peak demand, enable clean energy integration, and enhance grid
flexibility. The project adopts a “Design for Safety” approach, incorporates
lessons from global case studies, and addresses regulatory challenges to ensure
safe and effective operation.

Mr. Anthony Wong
M. Kaushal Vaishnav is a Chartered
Engineer with PMP and PMQ certifications, currently leading strategic power
plant projects for CLP Power. With over 20 years of experience across thermal,
gas, and waste-to-energy plants, he specializes in engineering, maintenance,
and project management, with a strong focus on integrating advanced
technologies and international safety standards. Kaushal holds a BEng in
Electronics Engineering, BSc in Science and master’s degree in business
administration.
Mr. Anthony Wong is an experienced
Electrical Engineer currently working on strategic power plant projects, for
CLP Power. Anthony holds an MSc in Energy Engineering and a BEng in Electrical
Engineering from HKU and has over 20 years of experience in mega-infrastructure
and government projects across Hong Kong and Macao—such as power,
transportation and environmental initiatives.

This seminar is free of charge and prior
registration is required. The number of
participants is limited to 30 (Seminar at HKIE HQ) and 500 (Webinar via Zoom)
respectively. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis
