Jointly organized with HKIE-MMNC and HKIE-AMC
Programme Highlights
CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) set up its training school in 1966 and for more than half a century has trained thousands of engineering professionals, many of whom have played key roles in Hong Kong’s development.
CLP Power upgraded its training school into a Power Academy in 2013 and established a Generation Academy to coordinate the training of both the power systems and generation employees and contractors.
In October 2017, CLP Power expanded its established training network beyond its own workforce to create a new CLP Power Academy, which for the first time is providing accredited professional programmes for school leavers who are working in or aspire to a career in the power industry, providing them with an upwardly mobile career path.
The bold new educational initiative comes at a time when Hong Kong has embarked upon major infrastructure projects including the HongKong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the high-speed rail link to Shenzhen, Guangzhou and the rest of mainland China. Demand for power engineering professionals is expected to grow because of increasing need for competent professionals for the infrastructure projects and other developments.
