Programme Highlights
Around 90% of transportation of cargoes in the world trade relies on ships. Without shipping, intercontinental transfer of the bulk materials, food and manufactured products would simply not be possible. Marine Engineering is not only relating to propel a ship, it is one of the important and essential sectors in the life blood of the global economy as well as for commerce, recreation, or for military purposes. From science point of view, it is an engineering of boats, ships, oil rigs and any other marine vessel or structure, and it is a mixture of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, control engineering and safety. The seminar will introduce the basic elements of marine engineering and its related shipboard engines, machineries, equipments and systems, supplemented with theories.
