Programme Highlights
Siu Ho Wan Sewage Treatment Works is a chemically enhanced primary sewage treatment (CEPT) plant located in North Lantau Island. A solar farm was commissioned in the plant, which is currently the largest one in Hong Kong.
The plant was commissioned in 1998 and upgraded to CEPT with a design treatment capacity of 180,000 m3 per day in 2004. To reduce energy consumption, a solar farm with estimated annual electricity generation of 1,100,000 kW hours was commissioned in the plant, which is equivalent to 25% of electricity consumption of the plant.
