Programme Highlights
Hangzhou grew to prominence as the southern terminus of the Grand Canal and has been one of China's most renowned and prosperous cities for much of the last millennium. It is a major economic and e-commerce hub within China, and the second biggest city in the Yangtze Delta after Shanghai and has become one of the most influential high-tech innovation and high-tech industry bases in Zhejiang Province.

Shanghai is one of the four direct-administered municipalities of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Shanghai is one of the world's major centers for finance, business and economics, research, science and technology, manufacturing, transportation, tourism, and culture, and the Port of Shanghai is the world's busiest container port.

HKIE Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture & Chemical Division (MMNC) organizes a 5-day technical visits to Hangzhou and Shanghai with the support of IMechE Hong Kong Branch, the main objective is let members in HK to explore more, connect and communicate with other engineers through technical visits in Hangzhou and Shanghai.  Locations to be visited included: -

-              Depamu (HangZhou) Pumps Technology Co., Ltd. (德帕姆 (杭州) 泵业科技有限公司)

-              Zhejiang Jindun Fans Holding Co., Ltd. (浙江金盾風機裝備有限公司)

-              Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co., Ltd. Machinery Manufacturing Branch Company 

         (上海隧道工程股份有限公司(機械製造分公司))

-              Shanghai Beiheng Channel Control Centre (上海北橫通道管控中心)

-              Shanghai Smart Transportation Management Centre (上海智慧交通管理中心)

-              Shanghai Taihe Underground Sewage Treatment Plant (上海泰和污水處理廠)

-              Shanghai Nanshi Water Plant (上海南市水廠)


Registration & Enquires
The fee for the visit is HK$4300 for members of MMNC Division and HK$5800 for non MMNC members, fees including travelling insurance, transportation and share double bed room accommodation (HK$750 addition for single bed room).  Strongly advise to buy your own travelling insurance for better protection.  The number of participants is limited to 20.  Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first served bases with priority given to members of MMNC Division.  Only on-line registration via https://forms.gle/Cvj8Q9wtrn1LnYw39.  Successful applications will be notified separately for payment details.
