HKIE-MMNC Technical Seminar Series for “Power Generation” - Role of gas turbines in energy transition & decarbonization

Date, time & venue

2025-03-24;6:30pm - 8pm;Chun Wo & Hsin Chong Room, 10/F, HKIE HQ and Webinar

Programme Highlights:
Addressing climate change must be an urgent global priority. To change course, the world must act quickly to decarbonize every aspect of modern life, from transportation to power. This requires a global decarbonization effort built on cooperation and coordination from every major institution, government, and company to face and meet the challenge. At GE Vernova, we believe that lower-carbon solutions, such as renewable energy supported by gas power, can contribute to a more decarbonized energy future. This seminar focuses on the role of gas turbines in energy transition and how can they help meeting the carbon neutrality goal.

Speaker:

Mr. Garigipati gained rich experience in the engineering of both Gas & Steam Turbine with hands-on knowledge of Commissioning, Operation, Maintenance, and project management of power plants. As a Lead Engineer in GE Gas power, Rahul provided technical service for key customers across the globe. Being a valuable resource in GE Vernova, Rahul and his family relocated to Hong Kong in March 2018 to provide a comprehensive engineering stewardship for one of the biggest combined cycle power stations – Black Point Power Station located in New Territories, Hong Kong.
