Programme HighlightsThe T-Park is the
first sludge treatment facilities in Hong Kong, it consist of sludge incinerator
with capacity up to 2,000 tonne of sludge, power generation system, seawater desalination
system and educational facilities. It can handle the current sludge produced
from 11 sewage treatment works in Hong Kong, and convert them into heat and
energy.
The sludge
incinerator uses advanced incineration technology to reduce the volume of
sludge by up to 90%, significantly relieving the pressure on landfills. The
heat generated from incineration can be used to generate electricity, which
powers all the facilities in the park for daily operations. The surplus
electricity can be fed into the public grid, providing power for up to 4,000
households. The desalination plant can produce 600 cubic meters of fresh water
daily and also collects rainwater for non-potable uses. Treated wastewater is
used for irrigation, toilet flushing, and cleaning, achieving zero wastewater
discharge.
