Programme
Highlights:
The pumped
storage power station functions as a critical grid stabilizing asset by storing
surplus generation during off peak demand periods and delivering rapid,
dispatchable power during system peaks. CLP has been actively involved in the
development of the Guangzhou Pumped Storage Power Station (GPSPS) since the
1980s, contributing to its planning, engineering, and operational advancement.
This seminar will present an overview of pumped storage system design and
operating principles, examine the historical development and technical
evolution of GPSPS, and outline its strategic role in enhancing reliability and
flexibility within the CLP Power System.
