SECOND NOTICE OF THE 45TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture & Chemical (MC) Division will be held on Tuesday, 7 May 2024 at 6:30pm at Hotel ICON, 17 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon, for the following purposes:

1.          To receive and confirm the Minutes of the 44th AGM.

2.          To receive and adopt the Annual Report of the Division for Session 2023/2024.

3.          To receive and adopt the Financial Statement of the Division for Session 2023/2024.

4.          To elect the Chairman and Ordinary Members of the Division Committee for Session 2024/2025.

In case of adjournment of the AGM, members of the Division shall check on the Institution’s website at www.hkie.org.hk and the Division’s website at http://mc.hkie.org.hk/ of the revised venue, time and date for the adjourned AGM.

Nominations for Division Chairman and Ordinary Members

Division Chairman
The outgoing Division Committee has decided to nominate Ir Melvin WONG Chi Keung for election as the Chairman for Session 2024/2025. 

No other nomination has been received from members by the nomination deadline.

Ordinary Members - under Clause 7.2(c) of the Division Rules
The outgoing Division Committee has decided to opt for the maximum of 14 Ordinary Members, and six Ordinary Members in the Committee shall retire by end of the Session, namely Ir Melvin WONG Chi Keung, Ir Kelvin TANG Sher Kin, Ir Janet LAM Sze Mei, Ir Felicia LEUNG Yi Ning, Ir Dr CHEUNG Ka Fu and Ir YAU Ka Man.

Following the retirement of the above Ordinary Members, there are six vacancies for the Ordinary Members.

The outgoing Division Committee has decided to nominate the following six candidates for Ordinary Members for a three-year term: Ir Janet LAM Sze Mei, Ir Felicia LEUNG Yi Ning, Ir Dr CHEUNG Ka Fu, Ir Ambrose CHEN Hao Ting, Ir Arthur LEE Hok Yin and Ir Aaron WONG Ming Sun.

No other nomination has been received from members by the nomination deadline.

Ordinary Members - under Clause 7.2(d) of the Division Rules (i.e. Ordinary Member of the Committee who is of 35 years of age or below)
Miss Lillian KWAN Ho Yu shall retire by end of the Session.

Following the retirement of the above Ordinary Member, there is one vacancy for the Ordinary Member.

The outgoing Division Committee has decided to nominate Mr CHO Kam Wa for Ordinary Member for a three-year term.

No other nomination has been received from members by the nomination deadline.
